The Cable Center is honoring the memory of the late William J. Bresnan with a new award: the Bresnan Ethics in Business Award.
The Bresnan Award will be presented yearly by The Cable Center at each Cable Hall of Fame celebration beginning in 2011.
Recipients of the Bresnan Ethics in Business Award will be those members of the cable telecommunications industry who best represent the standards upheld by Bill Bresnan, including understanding and doing what’s right in the face of adversity and upholding ethical leadership qualities in everyday work situations.
Anyone working in the industry will be eligible for the award. An exhibit honoring the award recipients will be on permanent display at The Cable Center.
Bresnan was founder and chairman of Bresnan Communications and long-time chairman of the board of The Cable Center.
“We are very proud to introduce the Bresnan Ethics in Business Award,” said Larry Satkowiak, president and CEO of The Cable Center. “Bill was one of the most respected and ethical leaders in our industry, and this award is a wonderful way to honor him and his dedication to cable and The Cable Center.”
“We are all so pleased that The Cable Center has created this award,” said Pat Bresnan, senior vice president of Bresnan Communications. “For Bill, ethical business practices were not a matter of individual decisions, they were simply an ever-present part of his business DNA, and he would be both proud and touched to know that the industry has decided to memorialize people of similar character in his name.”
