The National Cable & Telecommunications Association has gotten in on the downloadable application game with an app that was designed to keep attendees at next month’s Cable Show in Los Angeles in the know.

The free app is available for downloading at either the iTunes store or a website. The app was designed to work on iPhone operating systems and Blackberry handsets, as well as on any handset with access to mobile web applications.

Some of the features and applications include:

• Detailed exhibitor information – including exhibit locations, booth highlights and downloadable marketing collateral
• Demonstration details and participant information for the special “My World – Powered by Cable” industry exhibit
• Real-time Cable Show alerts, updates, breaking news, pictures and videos, and Twitter feeds
• Access to session schedules, including panel participants and locations

The NCTA said the app would be enhanced specifically for the “My World” industry exhibit, with special maps and enhanced navigation (iPhone platform), alerts and special offers.
