Verizon to list on Nasdaq, as well as NYSE

NEW YORK (AP) – Verizon Communications Inc. said Friday it will list its stock on the Nasdaq exchange, along with its existing New York Stock Exchange listing.

Verizon, whose ticker symbol is "VZ," has approximately 2.5 million shareowners and approximately 2.8 billion shares of common stock outstanding.

"Verizon has a broad and diverse shareholder base, and we believe that the additional support provided by dual listing will benefit our current and potential investors," said Verizon CFO John Killian.

The company's shares fell 14 cents to $29.70 in afternoon trading.
