Aurora Networks said the Agricultural Reclamation Headquarter (ARH) of HeiLongJiang has become a customer.

The ARH in northeast China is one of the nation’s largest producers of marketable grain. The entity has cable networks within its farms and operations that pass 300,000 homes. The ARH is using Aurora Networks’ technology to deliver digital video and commercial services to its subscribers.

The Agricultural Reclamation Headquarter of HeiLongJiang has agricultural reclamation substations throughout its territory that support cable networks. The entity is upgrading its network infrastructure with optical solutions from Aurora Networks at the reclamation substations.

Analog transmitters from Aurora Networks will support digital video delivered on the networks. Aurora Networks’ series of EDFAs and dispersion compensation modules will support the cable network’s long distance transmissions.

For commercial services, the Agricultural Reclamation Headquarter of HeiLongJiang selected Aurora Networks’ SMART Media Converters for deployment at both headend locations and agricultural substations.  The media converters will support the delivery of Gigabit Ethernet service to commercial customers, and DWDM technology from Aurora Networks will solve long-distance transmission challenges.
