After deploying DOCSIS 3.0 for businesses last week in Cincinnati, Time Warner Cable has beefed up its Start Over and HD offerings in the area, as well.

According to a blog on Cincinnati.com, Time Warner Cable has recently added 10 new channels to its Start Over service: USA, MSNBC, CNBC, Food Network, HGTV, Versus, SyFy, Teen Nick, Logo and Sprout. USA, MSNBC and CNBC have been involved in the broadcast of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

The Cincinnati.com blogger said the Start Over service wasn’t currently available in the former Adelphia system, which includes Delhi, Liberty Township and Amelia, but that Time Warner Cable was planning a major upgrade.

On the HD front, the new channels were Spike, Comedy Central, BET, MTV, VH1, CMT and Game 2HD.

A spokesman for Time Warner Cable confirmed this morning that the cable operator is in the process of tying in the former Adelphia system into its headend, which is slated to be finished this year, and that the additional HD channels launched with existing capacity in Cincinnati and were not due to a bandwidth reclamation project such as switched digital video.

Last week, Time Warner Cable launched a DOCSIS 3.0-enabled tier for businesses in some areas of Cincinnati, which marked its second DOCSIS 3.0 deployment since the initial offering in New York City in September.
