Cox Media, a division of Cox Communications, has launched an interactive advertising channel in San Diego with InfoLinx.
Using Cox’s VOD tier, InfoLinx TV provides interactive shopping and flyer circular content to more than 300,000 Cox digital subscribers in the San Diego area.
InfoLinx distributes reformatted, interactive, print-type content through the VOD system to be viewed on TV by Cox subscribers.
“The launch with Cox allows us to develop InfoLinx applications that in the near future will also include ‘telescoping’ from a traditional 30-second spot to InfoLinx-hosted content,” said InfoLinx President Matthew Jones. “Print media has changed dramatically over the last few years with the growth of the Internet, and InfoLinx is designed to benefit from this transition.”
Jones said InfoLinx is also focused on TV Everywhere services and mobile devices, as well as interactive applications for telco, cable, Internet and mobile service providers.
