Active Broadband Networks will be demonstrating a beta version of its Active Resource Subscriber Experience Manager at next week’s CableLabs Winter Conference in Denver.

Active Broadband Networks said the Subscriber Experience Manager uses new information provided by IPDR to profile network conditions and subscriber usage, identifying periods where the subscriber experience is impacted.

The Subscriber Experience Manager then computes experience in the form of bandwidth supplied, demand served and interface delay. The company said its Subscriber Experience Manager offers increased visibility into the impact of network congestion to manage customer satisfaction and network capacity.

"Our team is working hard to lead in the development of DOCSIS 3.0 IPDR solutions for cable operators," said Adam Dunstan, president of Active Broadband Networks. "With leading CMTS vendors providing DOCSIS 3.0 IPDR capabilities during 2010, operators can finally address the problems caused by SNMP and leverage these new capabilities with applications like the Subscriber Experience Manager."
