Canoe hires Redpath as SVP, general counsel

Canoe Ventures recently announced that John Redpath joined the company as senior vice president and general counsel.

Redpath has more than 30 years of experience, with most of his career spent at major media companies including HBO and Time Inc.

Redpath started his new job on Monday and reports to Canoe Ventures CEO David Verklin.

“We’re pleased that John is joining Canoe’s executive team,” Verklin said. “John brings a wealth of experience and relationships that are critical to Canoe as we introduce new products, drive collaboration and roll out innovative technologies into the television ecosystem.”

Redpath came to Canoe Ventures from the United States Golf Association, where he was chief legal officer. Prior to that, he was senior vice president and general counsel of Time Inc. From 1978 to 2002, Redpath held a variety of legal positions at Home Box Office, including executive vice president and general counsel.
