Imagine Communications has made two key additions to its executive team, with Doug Means coming on board as COO, along with Tibet Mimaro?lu as vice president of engineering.
Prior to joining Imagine, Means spent 14 years at Motorola, most recently as vice president and general manager of its IPTV video solutions business unit.
Imagine said Means is well known by its customers and highly respected in the U.S. cable, satellite and IPTV markets, as well as in high-growth international markets, including Europe and Asia.
“We are pleased to have [Means] join the Imagine team,” said Jamie Howard, president and CEO of Imagine. “He has an outstanding track record of building and scaling sales organizations’ impressive growth. With his dedication and proven leadership abilities, he is the perfect fit for Imagine in this stage of our development.”
Mimaro?lu joined Imagine with 29 years of experience in product development and engineering management. He was most recently CTO and executive vice president of engineering at Beko Elektronik, the No. 2 consumer electronics company in Europe with $1.5 billion in annual revenues from TV, set-top boxes and other consumer electronics products. Mimaro?lu led the multinational engineering team across four global locations.
“Tibet is highly talented with invaluable experience in H.264/Advanced Video Coding technology and is completely aligned with Imagine’s PersonalizedTV strategy,” said Ron Gutman, Imagine’s CTO and co-founder. “His broad industry knowledge and ability to successfully lead product development from inception to the marketplace is key to Imagine’s growth, and we welcome him to our organization.”
