Arris has plucked Sandra Howe from Cisco to be its senior vice president of strategic market development.
Howe will focus on supporting and enabling the various strategic initiatives of North American cable operators in her new job.
She will assist the Arris product development and sales teams in helping cable operators continue to grow through the launch of new technologies and services, including DOCSIS 3.0, VOD 2.0, MPEG-4 AVC, advanced transport networks, innovative network monitoring tools, IP gateways, and data and voice cable modems.
Howe will also coordinate long-range product and business strategy for North American cable operators within Arris and will consult with senior staff at a number of major MSOs.
Prior to joining Arris, Howe worked in several positions for 10 years at Cisco and Scientific Atlanta, including supporting Cisco’s largest customer, Time Warner Cable. During this time frame, Howe served as director of business development, strategic account markets manager, regional sales manager and senior account manager.
Howe helped Time Warner Cable launch new technologies, including switched digital video, digital simulcast, DVRs, high-definition set-tops, high-speed data and voice cable modems.
Prior to joining Cisco/Scientific Atlanta in 1999, Howe served as regional account executive for Broadband Networks Inc. in State College, Pa.
