PCT International, a worldwide manufacturer of last mile and access network solutions for broadband communications networks, announced today that veteran cable executive Mike Sparkman has joined the company as executive vice president of worldwide sales.

PCT said Sparkman, whose background includes more than 25 years in cable and telecommunications, brings extensive experience in infrastructure and logistics operations, management and sales.

In his new role, he will oversee all sales, marketing, field engineering, client services and support activities as the company develops new opportunities that optimize the collective value of its HFC, fiber, satellite, terrestrial and customer premises products.

“One of PCT International’s key objectives is to create holistic approaches that will help video service providers to cost-effectively deliver ever-increasing levels of service quality and reliability,” said Steve Youtsey, president and CEO of PCT International. “Mike Sparkman’s understanding of operators’ infrastructures, his proven success in building organizations and his relationships within the industry all will be invaluable in improving the ability of our company to meet our customers’ needs.”

Sparkman joins PCT International after three years as vice president of worldwide sales for Aurora Networks. Previously, he founded and served as president of Broadband Services Inc. (BSI), a global provider of asset management, logistics, installation and repair services for the cable telecommunications industry.

During a 17-year stint with ANTEC, which is now Arris, Sparkman held several executive posts, including senior vice president of international operations and senior vice president of sales for the company’s network transmission division. From 1997 to 2000, he served as CEO of Itochu Cable Services, a division of Itochu Corp.
