OpenTV launches System Integrator Partner Program
OpenTV recently announced the formation of a new System Integrator Partner Program (SIPP) that was designed to provide trusted partners with a toolset to help deliver OpenTV’s products and services to its customer base.
The SIPP program applies to OpenTV’s set-top box porting, network integration, interactive application development and other systems integration services.
Initial program members include Corpus Media Labs, Orange Business Services, S3 and Triple Play Integration. The SIPP project extends the company’s existing relationship with partners such as Cisco, Irdeto and Nagravision.
“As our business continues to grow, it is important for us to leverage our partnerships with the industry’s leading system integrators to meet and surpass our customers’ needs and expectations,” said Tracy Geist, senior vice president of business development. “Through this new program, we’re combining our middleware expertise with the finest skills in porting and system integration to deliver robust solutions with the best viewing experiences to our customers and viewers worldwide in the fastest time possible.”
Some of the benefits to the partnership include:
- The licensing of OpenTV’s middleware technology to trusted partners at no cost for integration purposes
- Early visibility into upcoming developments at OpenTV
- The ability to fully complete an integration without relying on outside parties
- Freedom for partners to develop their own solutions
Last week, OpenTV announced that it was licensing its suite of application development tools to the developer community at no charge. The OpenTV SDK Development Suite is an integrated interactive application development environment for OpenTV middleware that allows developers to create applications for interactive television using an OpenTV-enabled set-top box.
OpenTV also announced it would open its TV measurement platform for developers later this year by publishing the format of key data points.
