Entone Inc., a provider of IPTV home connectivity offerings, and Edgeware announced today that Entone’s IP video gateways and media hubs have been fully integrated with Edgeware’s video-on-demand servers.

The two companies said the collaborative effort provides service operators a more efficient and cost-effective IPTV platform that can be quickly and easily deployed to enable advanced services – such as time-shifted TV, VOD, whole-home DVR and online media services – using advanced codecs such as MPEG-4 (H.264/AVC).

“Our complementary technologies will enable service providers to accelerate their time to market, while at the same time offer subscribers more compelling next-generation TV services,” said Yves van Hecke, director of business development for EMEA at Entone.

Entone said its Connected Home Solutions integrate patent-pending media routing technologies that enable the delivery of live broadcast television and recorded video services throughout a subscriber’s home without requiring new wiring or a set-top box at each TV set. This allows service operators to upscale their on-demand service as their subscriber base grows.
