ActiveVideo Networks and Videon Central said they have forged a partnership that was designed to speed up the adoption of interactive TV services and next-generation consumer electronics video devices.
Under the terms of the partnership, Videon will integrate its core middleware technologies with ActiveVideo’s network-based cloud processing in order to expand the reach and availability of Web-based, interactive television offerings.
ActiveVideo said that the joint platform would be available on Web-connected televisions, Blu-ray Disc and DVD players, and other devices in millions of homes by the end of next year.
The two companies will demonstrate the joint solution at the Intel Developer Forum, being held Sept. 22-24 at the Moscone Center West in San Francisco.
"Through its work with BD and DVD middleware and its relationships with major silicon and CE equipment manufacturers, Videon Central has established itself as a leader in enabling the highest-quality digital video experiences," said Jeff Miller, president and CEO of ActiveVideo. "By entering into a partnership with them, we can ensure the accelerated availability of solutions that will help to increase adoption of the next generation of CE devices."
Financial terms of the partnership weren’t disclosed.
