AT&T continues to bring U-verse to additional markets, establishing toeholds in Louisville, Ky., and Mobile, Ala., but not in Baton Rouge, La. – at least not yet.
The company said its U-verse triple-play services will be available in parts of the Louisville area beginning today.
Meanwhile, Mobile is apparently the anchor of a regional expansion that will also bring U-verse services to Pensacola, Fla., about 50 miles to the east.
A statement in the company’s press release included a reference to U-verse becoming available in Baton Rouge. AT&T said that was an error.
Nonetheless, the company is advertising jobs for installers and technicians in the Baton Rouge area, suggesting that the Louisiana city will see U-verse sometime in the not too distant future.
Separately, AT&T upgraded its wireless service to 3G technology in Morgantown, W.Va., and surrounding areas. AT&T placed the upgrade in the context of its national upgrade of its 3G wireless system. On Aug. 20, the company announced it was adding capacity to its 3G network, apparently in response to growing complaints about network reliability from its iPhone-using customers.
