Clearwire has shuffled its management, replacing its CFO, naming an executive in charge of partnerships and wholesaling, and distributing the responsibilities of its departing chief strategy officer.

Clearwire’s cable partners will apparently be dealing with an executive new to the WiMAX provider, though perhaps a familiar face to some in the cable industry. The company named Teresa Elder president of strategic partnerships and wholesale, a new position.

Most recently, Elder was CEO of Vodafone Ireland, but before joining Vodafone, Elder was president of the western operations of AT&T Broadband (now part of Comcast), and before that she was senior vice president for the Western Region at MediaOne Group, as well as vice president of operations and national markets at MediaOne.

Meanwhile, Scott Richardson, who had been Clearwire’s chief strategy officer, is stepping down as CSO, though he will continue to serve as a strategic advisor. CEO Bill Morrow will assume responsibility for overall strategy of the company, while Mike Sievert, chief commercial officer, will oversee product development.

Erik Prusch will be the new CFO, replacing David Sach. Prusch was most recently president and CEO of Borland Software (he had been Borland’s CFO). Borland was purchased by Micro Focus in May. Prusch previously held various positions in Intuit’s Turbo Tax division, at Identix, and Gateway Computers.

The company said Sach, who’d been on board for about a year, left the company “to pursue new opportunities.”
