JDSU intros portable 43G test module
By Brian Santo
JDSU has introduced a new test module supporting 43G OTN multiplexing, the first – the company claims – light enough to be used in the field. The new 40G transport module works with the company’s T-BERD/MTS-8000 test platform.
Using the module, technicians can now install ODU1 and ODU2 containers across network-to-network (NNI) interfaces. The new features also deliver Intrusive Through Mode testing for both SONET/SDH and OTN rates, enhancing the ability to troubleshoot and characterize circuits running at 40/43G.
Intrusive Through Mode enables service providers to test how equipment connected to the other end of their highest speed links reacts to and recovers from service disruption events, JDSU said.
