Trilithic has added DOCSIS 3.0 testing to its 860 DSPi Field Analyzer, which the company said is an industry first.
The DOCSIS 3.0 option for the 860 DSPi has a range of DOCSIS 3.0-related tests, including complete statistical information about each of the bonded signals. It tests individual downstream receive levels and upstream transmit levels, downstream MER, pre- and post-FEC BER, and it does high-speed data analysis.
The 860 DSPi was designed to perform network tests to prepare the plant for DOCSIS 3.0 services, perform installation tests as the services are rolled out, troubleshoot throughout the network, and perform sweep/maintenance tests before and after the services are deployed.
“We’re proud to be the first to market with this new option,” said Trilithic President Terry Bush.
Trilithic will start shipping the field analyzer with the DOCSIS 3.0 option next month.
The DOCSIS 3.0 functionality can also be added to any pre-shipped 860 DSPi. Since the new option is a hardware upgrade, units in the field will need to either be returned to the factory or scheduled for onsite installation.
