Deadline extended for input on U.S. broadband plan
The FCC will extend by two weeks the deadline for interested parties to comment on the National Broadband Plan.
The new deadline is July 21.
Earlier this year, the Commission issued a Notice of Inquiry (NOI) asking for input on the National Broadband Plan. The deadline for initial comments was June 8.
The FCC allowed time to respond to those comments; it is the deadline for responses that has been pushed back by two weeks.
Among the parties requesting a deadline extension were the National Association of State Utility Consumer Advocates (NASUCA) and the CTIA.
The FCC’s deadline to submit its broadband plan – Feb. 17, 2010 – has not changed.
