U-verse now in parts of central Illinois

AT&T has introduced U-verse to customers in several areas in central Illinois, including Champaign, Danville, Decatur and Springfield.

Being delivered are all three U-verse products: U-verse TV, U-verse high-speed Internet and U-verse Voice.

The three services are being offered along with Total Home DVR and more than 100 high-definition channels.

TiVo elects J. Heidi Roizen to board

ALVISO, Calif. (AP) – Digital video recorder company TiVo Inc. said Friday it increased the size of its board to 10 members with the election of J. Heidi Roizen.

TiVo said Roizen's appointment was effective Wednesday. Roizen, 51, is chief executive of Skinny Little Things.

Nine of TiVo's 10 directors are independent and outside of the company, TiVo said.

IPtimize buys assets, network of Fla. company

IPtimize has acquired the assets and operating network of National Telecom & Broadband Services, including Teliphonex, the company’s business-class VoIP hosted PBX solution.

Based in West Palm Beach, Fla., the commercial VoIP business assets acquired by IPtimize serve small business and enterprise customers in West Palm Beach, Miami, Orlando and Tampa. The acquisition adds approximately 1,000 customer lines served by IPtimize.

IPtimize offers a suite of commercial voice services, including its SIP trunking and hosted VoIP services, to client companies and their customers. IPtimize also offers provisioning and hosted communications packages.
