Through this partnership, Clearleap said programming will soon be available to home viewers through cable, satellite and IPTV providers in a video-on-demand environment. The agreements are the first in a series of content partnerships Clearleap plans to announce in the coming weeks.
“Each of these partners is a pioneer in the Web video space and has done an excellent job of cultivating a passionate following. Their programming will give operators the high-profile, cutting-edge content the younger, social media-savvy audience desires,” said Clearleap CEO Braxton Jarratt. “We are thrilled to help expand their reach to more traditional TV audiences and give them an opportunity to create additional revenues.
“The added reach will give blip.tv, Next New Networks and Revision3 the opportunity to tap into additional revenue streams, as each will be able to include video and overlay ads with their content.”
Jarratt also said that local service operators will have the option to insert advertising using clear|profit, an ad platform that allows for up-to-the-minute ad placement for VOD and linear content.
Using Clearleap’s clear|flow, a content platform that integrates with traditional TV infrastructures, the Web video providers can deliver content using a Media RSS (MRSS) feed. Once the content is delivered into the Clearleap platform, it’s then made available to home viewers as a VOD offering.
In March, Clearleap introduced both clear|profit and clear|flow (story here).
Clearleap said its automated system of contentingest, management and delivery was a leap forward for MSOs who commonly rely on a time-consuming and costly satellite and tape-based workflow.
