Arris and OpenTV have joined forces on a turnkey digital advertising offering for cable and telecommunications service providers.

The joint platform supports the advertising sales, insertion, reporting, campaign management and related functions necessary for ad sales operations and is initially targeted at Europe, where local ad sales opportunities are gaining momentum.

The platform combines Arris’ ConvergeMedia SkyVision Advertising applications suite with OpenTV's Eclipse Campaign Management product to create an end-to-end digital program insertion (DPI) advertising system.

This "ad insertion-in-a-box" offering includes digital splicers, campaign management systems, cue management and encoding/transcoding, installation services and technical assistance to support cable operators in preparing their systems for advertising capabilities.

At The Cable Show ’09, OpenTV’s EclipsePlus hooked up with Arris’ ConvergeMedia Ad Decision Manager (ADM) to demonstrate how the two will enable an operator to identify national ad breaks to do real-time localized ad substitutions based on geographic market data – a critical underpinning for Canoe Ventures’ industry-wide advertising initiatives.
