Synacor helps D & E Communications expand portal

D&E Communications is using Synacor’s content and technology portfolio to expand its residential broadband portal that serves its subscribers in central Pennsylvania.

Under the agreement, D&E will launch a suite of products that are designed to provide customers with increased functionality and a wide range of relevant premium content. D&E will use Synacor’s customizable broadband portal, value-added services and proprietary technology platform to power the new broadband environment.

”The ability to offer a personalized customer experience can drive the value of broadband significantly for our customers,” said David Moore, vice president of business development and marketing for D&E Communications. “We expect that Synacor’s integrated portfolio of services will enhance the broadband experience for our customers, and will allow us to provide them with the content and advertising that is most relevant to them.”

D&E will utilize Synacor’s customizable portals to serve as the primary site for consumer services, including news, weather, gaming and other interactive features. 

Using the Synacor single sign-on process, customers are identified and recognized, enabling targeted delivery of the personalized content and local information that customers want. Single sign-on identification allows service providers to efficiently deliver relevant promotional offerings, as well as targeted advertising, and serves as a gateway to branded news, entertainment, sports, finance and other content offerings.

On Monday, Synacor announced it had helped Bresnan Communications redesign its Web portal, which includes updated TV listings, as well as local news and weather (story here).
