Solekai Systems Corp., a specialist in digital video product design, quality assurance and testing, said it will resell Miriate’s automated set-top box test and control platform to new and existing customers in the Americas.

The agreement allows broadcast service providers, application developers and hardware manufacturers to buy Miriate through a local channel with local support services.

Financial terms of the agreement weren’t available.

Miriate provides the ability to automatically drive large numbers of set-top boxes and interactive digital TVs (iDTVs) through suites of tests, including realistic endurance testing.

Solekai also announced that Tim McConnell has been named as the company’s vice president of engineering.

McConnell comes to Solekai with more than 20 years of engineering services experience as a software engineer, project manager and program manager.

Prior to joining Solekai, he spent more than seven years at Vision Robotics Corp., a San Diego start-up that began developing robotic vacuum cleaners.
