Time Warner Cable has launched Primetime On Demand, a free on-demand channel that will house TV shows from various broadcast and cable networks’ primetime lineups, including NBC, CBS, USA and FX.

TWC subscribers will have access to programs such as NBC’s “The Biggest Loser,” “Heroes” and “Knight Rider”; CBS’s “Survivor” and “Big Brother”; and USA’s “Monk,” “Burn Notice” and “Psych.”

The nation’s second-largest cable operator plans to increase the amount of programming to include additional networks and broadcasts.

Lisa Stockmon, vice president of corporate marketing for TWC, said: “We put the customers’ viewing schedule in their hands. We make it simple and easy for them to watch what they want, when they want.”

Bright House Networks recently announced that its digital video customers now have free access to popular network shows the day after the shows originally air (story here).

Bright House calls the new on-demand service Primetime On Demand, as well, and the launch is currently underway. The service stores the shows for up to four weeks, which allows digital subscribers to view them at their leisure.
