Ericsson to debut home gateway software
Ericsson announced today that it will debut its Connected Home Gateway software at this month’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
Ericsson’s gateway gives consumers access to home multimedia devices and services at locations throughout their home networks. The gateway also enables one single entry point for IPTV and multimedia telephony services into the home.
By using the gateway, consumers can then use their mobile devices to communicate directly with their computer, TV or media player.
The Connected Home Gateway is compliant with telecom and consumer electronics standards, such as IP multimedia subsystem (IMS), the Open IPTV Forum and the Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA), which Ericsson said enables interoperability and ease-of-use between a wide range of commercially available devices.
Ericsson will demonstrate the Connected Home Gateway, together with commercially available consumer electronics devices, at Mobile World Congress, being held Feb. 16-19.
