• Entertainment Studios selects Crawford for HD transmission
By Traci Patterson

Entertainment Studios has chosen Crawford Communications for its transmission of six high-definition (HD) TV networks, which are initially launching on Verizon's FiOS TV service.

Entertainment Studios sends HD content from its Los Angeles headquarters to Crawford's hub in Atlanta for turnkey HD origination services. From ingest and content management to playout and quality control, Crawford monitors the networks 24/7, Entertainment Studios said, and Crawford uplinks the signals to SES Americom's AMC-18 satellite via an MPEG-4 HD MCPC mux for U.S. distribution.

The networks are: Cars.tv, Pets.tv, Comedy.tv, MyDestination.tv, Es.tv and Recipe.tv.
