Verizon and CBS Corp. said today that they’ve expanded the two companies’ retransmission and carriage agreements to carry CBS shows such as “Survivor” and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” on Verizon’s FiOS TV service, as well as the telco’s mobile network.

Verizon broadened and extended its rights for retransmission consent for CBS’s owned-and-operated television stations, network and local video-on-demand (VOD) for the FiOS TV platform, as well as mobile rights for Verizon Wireless' V CAST video service.

"We are extremely pleased to have reached this broad, long-term agreement that recognizes the value of our programming," said Leslie Moonves, president and CEO of CBS. "Verizon subscribers will have continued access to the No. 1 TV network, not only through FiOS TV, but also through V CAST on the mobile phone, which enhances our profile on a key emerging platform."

Under the new agreement, Verizon has secured mobile rights for full episodes of several CBS Entertainment and News programs, including shows from primetime, daytime and the news program "60 Minutes."

The new deal also includes national VOD rights for programs in both standard-definition (SD) and high-definition (HD) formats, as well as video-on-demand rights for local news, also in SD and HD.

Financial terms of the agreement, including whether Verizon is paying CBS to carry its stations, were not available. Broadcasters have sought payment from video service providers to carry their free-to-air broadcast stations in the latest round of retransmission agreements.

Last week, CBS extended its retransmission agreement with Time Warner Cable (story here).
