SCTE’s standards program reaccredited by ANSI
The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) said that the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) recently reaccredited its standards program.
The SCTE’s standards program also moved up to 13th in the ranking of ANSI’s 219 accredited standards developers. The SCTE’s program was first accredited by ANSI in 1995.
The SCTE’s standards program was ranked 15th in September of last year and 79th in 1998. ASTM International holds ANSI’s top ranking.
The SCTE standards program also recently achieved a milestone of 200 ANSI-approved SCTE technical standards. The count has since risen to 203, with a dozen or so more technical standards due for ANSI approval early next year. By comparison, when ranked 15th with ANSI in September 2007, the SCTE had 175 ANSI-approved standards.
