Registration for The Cable Show ’09 is now open (available here), and delegates who register before March 6 will save $100 on regular registration fees.

The Cable Show ’09 will be held April 1-3, 2009, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

Scheduled to speak at the event are Brian Roberts, chairman and CEO of Comcast; Glenn Britt, president and CEO of Time Warner Cable; Rupert Murdoch, chairman of News Corp.; and Robert Iger, president and CEO of The Walt Disney Co.

The show will see the first-ever “Cable Connection – Spring,” a week of activities in which a variety of additional cable industry meetings, events and conferences will be scheduled in conjunction with the trade show. Cable Connection – Spring will run from April 1-6 in Washington, D.C., and will include CableLabs’ conferences and the SCTE’s Conference on Emerging Technologies (ET).

Cable Show attendees are also encouraged to book their Washington, D.C., hotel reservations using The Cable Show ’09 housing block, as participating hotels feature discounts on room rates, access to show “room drops,” and free shuttle bus transportation to the Convention Center.

Co-chairs for this year’s show are Johnathan Rodgers, president and CEO of TV One, and Michael Willner, vice chairman and CEO of Insight Communications.

The participating groups include the NCTA, the SCTE, The Walter Kaitz Foundation, Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM), CableLabs, the Association of Cable Communicators (ACC), the Cabletelevision Advertising Bureau (CAB), The Cable Center, Cable Positive, Cable Pioneers and The National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC).

In the fall of 2009, CTAM Summit, SCTE Cable-Tec Expo, the Cable Center Hall of Fame Dinner and a CableLabs seminar will be among the events in Denver, beginning Oct. 25, for Cable Connection – Fall.
