Internet platform provider Brightcove is cutting 25 jobs, or 14 percent of its workforce, in what the company said was “staffing adjustments.”

In addition to the job cuts, Brightcove also announced the debut of the Brightcove Alliance, which was designed to allow its clients to share its APIs. Brightcove released Brightcove 3 several months ago, which included open APIs for advertising, analytics, mobile, search and social media.

The Brightcove Alliance launched with more than 90 partners, including Yahoo, AOL, DoubleClick, Veoh, Metacafe, Slide, Meebo, Blinkx, Sprout and Clearspring.

Through the Alliance, partners have access to training, support, technology and co-marketing opportunities for reaching the Brightcove customer base.

In early 2009, Brightcove will introduce training and certification programs for partners, as well as channel reseller opportunities.
