Vecima Networks has commercially released the WaveRider next-generation indoor modem.

According to Vecima, the LMS8000 Series 900 MHz lineup now includes the highest throughput OFDM indoor subscriber unit in the industry. The new EUM8005 indoor radio enables wireless Internet service providers to increase their return on investment by deploying indoor, high-throughput wireless broadband access gear to their subscribers.

When combined with Vecima Networks’ VistaMAX series of WiMAX-compliant equipment at 1.9, 3.5 and 3.65 GHz frequencies, as well as the BWIN series of 700MHz-6GHz DOCSIS wireless broadband systems, Vecima offers complete wireless solutions to meet the needs of Internet service providers.

“The Vecima EUM8005 indoor modem has been deployed within our networks for some time now and has proven to be very reliable and easy to deploy,” said Dale McEachern, CEO of Ontario-based Nextcom, a communications integrator. “Our customers have noticed a significant speed increase with this modem. We also really like the power-over-Ethernet feature as it offers additional installation options over the previous EUM3005.”
