Insight Communications added 40,200 customers over the past year to end its third quarter with a total of 753,000. The company’s subscribers were good for a total of 1,817,300 revenue generating units (RGUs), an increase of 254,600, from September 30, 2007.
The privately-held company reported third quarter revenue of $220 million, an increase of 17 percent over revenue recorded last year in Q3 2007. Capital expenditures in the quarter totaled $53.6 million.
Total basic customers at the end of the quarter end were up 5.4 percent from last year to 702,000. Total digital customers at quarter end were 420,500.
Insight reported a net gain of 20,500 Internet customers to reach 445,100, a 34 percent penetration of high-speed data homes passed. Total telephone customers at quarter end were 249,600.
Insight said that as of September 30, 2008, 99 percent of the company’s customers were passed by two-way, 750 MHz or higher capacity upgraded network.
