TiVo today announced a new Web site that will allow its users to program their DVRs at home by using their mobile phones.

The free service allows subscribers and non-subscribers to browse, search and find TV shows regardless of mobile platform, carrier or browser.

The site, m.tivo.com, lets users search by actor, title and keyword while also making recommendations and providing a list of the most popular content.

While the service allows TiVo subscribers to schedule recording on their Series2 or Series3 DVRs through the site, it’s open to anyone for browsing and searching.

TiVo said the Web site is live in beta form today and will be available on a wider scale over the next few weeks.
