Nortel to resell Optibase media gateways

Nortel Networks agreed to purchase and resell the MGW product line from Optibase, including its MGW-2000 media gateway. The media gateway is multichannel and allows real-time streaming of MPEG digital video and audio over IP networks. It has an embedded operating system and can encode and transmit up to 16 streams simultaneously, including six in real time, Optibase reports.

TRW launches fiber optic supplier

TRW launched Velocium, a new provider of high-speed InP and GaAs components, and other products for fiber optic and wireless telecom systems. The company invested more than $300 million in taking semiconductor capabilities to market, and committed $70 million more for InP manufacturing capacity expansion and product development.

Home security provider @Security Broadband Corp. landed $45 million in its second round of financing from multiple investors, including seven major cable companies.
