The Cable Center will officially take the wraps off of its new permanent Cable Hall of Fame exhibit during this week’s Cable Days event in Denver.

The permanent Cable Hall of Fame exhibit will be unveiled on Thursday during Cable Days, which kickoffs on Wednesday and runs through Friday this week.

Spanning two full walls of The Cable Center, the new Cable Hall of Fame exhibit will offer a brief profile of every one of the 65 Cable Hall of Fame inductees to date, along with highlights and commentary from The Cable Center's Oral History Collection.   Designed by Mitchell Associates of Wilmington, Del., The Cable Center said the Cable Hall of Fame exhibit was designed to reflect "signal waves," and was built with custom fabricated vertical metallic "blades," richly finished cherry-stained veneer and translucent resin materials.

Also new to The Cable Center:

  •  A completely renovated video tower in the Daniels Great Hall, sponsored by Comcast and made possible by a $1 million contribution from the Comcast Foundation in 2006. The tower is highlighted with 44 high definition flat screen televisions showcasing cable programming delivered by Comcast.
  •  A new cable programming exhibit added to the third floor, including an informative slideshow of cable facts and images.
  •  An update of its first floor exhibit detailing The Cable Center's many educational programs.
  •  A revision and refresh of the content on its interactive learning stations.
  •  An updated "Cable Today and Tomorrow" room, hosting a small group of innovative companies demonstrating pioneering consumer products that incorporate today's most advanced cable technology.

"The Cable Center is proud to unveil its new permanent Cable Hall of Fame exhibit  - the first permanent display of its kind dedicated to the pioneering leaders of our industry who have made an indelible mark on the media world," said Larry Satkowiak, president and chief executive officer of The Cable Center.
