Time Warner Cable names Altaffer group VP, sales channels

Time Warner Cable today announced that Blaine Altaffer has been hired as group vice president of sales channels and market development.

He will report to Sam Howe, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, and will be based in the company’s Herndon, Va., corporate office. Altaffer will be responsible for Time Warner Cable’s sales strategies and sales channels, including e-tail, retail and door-to-door sales, as well as the company’s initiatives in the mover’s market.

“Blaine is an expert in the retail marketplace and brings to Time Warner Cable impressive understanding and command of merchandising, e-tailing and marketing,” Howe said. “He is a seasoned, entrepreneurial, visionary manager whose expertise is an ideal fit for the tremendous opportunities and demands facing our sales strategies. I am certain he will help drive Time Warner Cable forward, faster.”

In his 16 years at Circuit City Stores, Altaffer held several sales and purchasing positions. Most recently, he was business team lead for digital connections and managed all aspects of the company’s retail partnerships with cable, Internet, telecom, wireless and satellite companies.
