Primary Wave Media recently announced a program that it said can capture “movers” and direct those calls to its licensee network that is designed to keep cable customers with their service providers after they move from one location to another.
With the program, Prime Wave Media said cable operators can now own the exclusive right to market, advertise and receive direct calls from 1-800-cable-TV within their own geographic market, allowing them to track consumers moving from one market to another, as well.
“Using one memorable phone number that consumers can call to order service before they move gives cable operators a stronger competitive advantage,” said Gregg Hamerschlag, president and CEO of Primary Wave Media, a provider of toll-free vanity numbers.
To meet this need, 1-800-cable-TV uses a new Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system that allows the caller to enter the location where they would like services. The system routes callers to the licensed cable operator in that market.
“The February digital switchover and the precarious real estate market underscore the importance the cable industry places on capturing new movers today,” Hamerschlag said.
Prime Wave Media said the phone number currently receives tens of thousands of monthly calls from consumers inside and outside of licensed territories.
