• Amdocs wins new OSS contract from Comcast

Amdocs said today that Comcast has signed a new contract that allows the operator to deploy Amdocs’ customer care, billing and OSS products.
Amdocs said it has provided longstanding support to Comcast's video, high-speed Internet and voice services. In addition to billing and customer care, Comcast will also deploy the Amdocs CES - Cramer OSS 7.5 to support its network resource management and network planning processes.
"Amdocs is a valued partner and is delivering technology and services that are integral to how Comcast interacts with its customers," said Andy Baer, chief information officer for Comcast. "We look forward to continuing our relationship and developing new ways in which to better serve our customers."

Consumers and businesses in Hancock and New Ashford, Mass., now have access to Verizon’s high-speed Internet service.
The service is being offered in most areas of Hancock and New Ashford, the latest of 24 western Massachusetts communities where Verizon is bringing the service. Previously, these communities did not have access to broadband service.
Verizon's high-speed Internet service will give Internet users the ability to download at speeds of 768 Kbps.
• ADC enters into OEM with Accedian Networks

ADC has entered into an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement with Accedian Networks to offer Ethernet demarcation units as part of its LoopStar product family. Under the agreement, Accedian will supply equipment to ADC for wireless carriers and service providers worldwide, the companies said.
The LoopStar EtherNID and MetroNID demarcation units provide a combination of advanced in-line performance monitoring, Ethernet service creation and standards-based operations, and administration and maintenance (OAM) capabilities that simplify the deployment and assurance of carrier Ethernet services over any network.
ADC will feature the LoopStar EtherNID product at the WiMAX World 2008 show in Chicago this week.
