TWC’s Total Digital Home to exhibit at Texas fair
By Traci Patterson

Time Warner Cable's 2,400-square-foot, interactive Total Digital Home will be on exhibit at the State Fair of Texas.

The Total Digital Home is designed to showcase live demos of Time Warner Cable’s digital cable, Road Runner high-speed online and digital phone services. All of these services are currently available to TWC customers in north Texas.

Designed and built to model a typical north Texas residence, the home features a living room, game room and bedroom. Guests can experience high-definition (HD) on one of more than 20 flat-screen TVs, can make a free call to anywhere in the U.S. and can select international locations through digital home phone. Inside the Road Runner-enabled game room, guests can play Nintendo Wii and Xbox games online. Information on TWC’s products and channel lineups, as well as the company's DTV transition plans, will also be available.

Verizon’s services pick up speed in Mass.
By Traci Patterson

Residents of Bellingham, Mass., will soon have access to Verizon’s FiOS TV service, thanks to a newly approved agreement authorizing the telco to offer its video service in the area.

The vote makes 80 the total number of Massachusetts communities where Verizon's FiOS TV is, or will soon be, available.

Additionally, consumers and businesses in Montgomery, Mass., now have access to Verizon’s high-speed Internet service. Montgomery is the latest of 24 western Massachusetts communities to receive the telco’s DSL-based service, which gives users the ability to download at speeds of 768 Kbps.
