Verizon has introduced its FiOS TV service in parts of Hampton, Va. The service is currently available to Virginia consumers in parts of Chesapeake, Newport News and Virginia Beach.

FiOS TV is available now to nearly 4,200 households in parts of the following Hampton neighborhoods: Aberdeen Garden (east and west), Bethel Park, Big Bethel Heights, Carson Heights, Forest Park, Mercury West, Pine Tree Place, Sylvia Estates, Three Chopt Village and White Acres.

And Verizon is extending its new promotional deal to Hampton residents – new customers who subscribe to FiOS TV between now and Oct. 4 will receive their choice of a year's free use of either a high-definition (HD) digital video recorder (DVR) or an HD Home Media DVR.

Verizon said that it is offering new FiOS TV customers, or existing customers who upgrade to a bundled package, one free month of HBO and Cinemax, which includes the latest hit movies, documentaries and original programming from more than 25 premium channels, as well as access to hundreds of titles on video-on-demand (VOD).

Meanwhile, nearly 1,700 more Pinellas County, Fla., homes and businesses in parts of Indian Rocks Beach, Largo, Pinellas Park, Seminole and St. Petersburg can now choose Verizon's FiOS services.

Verizon currently offers FiOS Internet and FiOS TV services in Pinellas County in parts of Clearwater, Clearwater Beach, Countryside, Crystal Beach, Dunedin, North Gulf Beach, Palm Harbor, Pinellas Park, Safety Harbor, St. George, St. Petersburg and Tarpon Springs.

Verizon also offers FiOS Internet and FiOS TV services in parts of Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Polk and Sarasota counties, and the telco continues to upgrade its network to all-fiber in the six-county Tampa Bay area. More than 800,000 consumers in Verizon's Florida service area can now order FiOS TV service, the company said.

Additionally, Verizon is bringing its FiOS customers in Indiana, Massachusetts, Oregon and Rhode Island the new FiOS Freedom bundles. Bundle options now include a new FiOS TV Extreme service tier with more HD channels than Verizon’s cable competition, in addition to ultra-high-speed FiOS Internet service and unlimited local and long-distance calling, according to Verizon.

The FiOS TV Extreme HD Service includes more than 250 standard-definition (SD) channels and 44 HD channels. Verizon’s FiOS Internet Service offers maximum connection speeds of up to 10 Mbps downstream and 2 Mbps upstream.
