Ixia and Fanfare have formed a partnership, and the companies will integrate Ixia’s Test Conductor IP test automation framework with Fanfare’s iTest test case authoring platform and device configuration capabilities.

The end result of the partnership is that service providers and network equipment manufacturers will be able to ensure quality and reduced time to market for network products and services thanks to the companies’ combined, comprehensive testing solutions. According to the companies, they will offer a vendor-neutral approach to test automation that maximizes the value customers can draw from their investment in test beds in a way that utilizes the strengths of each product to design the best possible test scenario.

Ixia's Test Conductor is a highly scalable IP test automation framework that is compatible with third-party test applications and devices, as well as with Ixia test applications, such as IxLoad and IxNetwork.

Fanfare's iTest suite of testing tools can be used by both experienced and novice test engineers to eliminate manual and repetitive testing tasks, enabling quality assurance (QA) organizations to perform faster, more effective and thorough device and system testing, the company said. Fanfare's solutions already support IxExplorer, and Ixia and Fanfare plan to collaborate on further integrations.

"Fanfare is responding to the feedback of customers and to the increased market demand for this kind of integration," said Tom Ryan, CEO of Fanfare. "Together we will create a versatile automation platform that increases the overall value for our joint customers through collaborative, complementary innovations in our products."
