Cox touts operational advances in Q2
Cox Communications has provided updates on operations during its second quarter.
The privately held company said that it grew both Internet and telephony customers, boosting total residential customer relationships by greater than 1 percent.
Cox also said that it had increased the total number of bundled customers by nearly 7 percent, increased triple-play customers by nearly 17 percent, and achieved a company record for high-definition (HD) customer growth – nearly 50 percent – all compared with the second quarter of last year.
On-Demand is now available in all Cox markets, at no extra charge, for digital cable customers.
Cox said it recently offered Internet speed increases and added PowerBoost for both uploads and downloads. It plans to begin rolling out caller ID on TV.
The company reiterated that most of its systems are being upgraded to 1GHz, and it said that it is testing DOCSIS 3.0 and is “poised to deploy it in strategic markets.”
