Comcast Spotlight renews licensing agreement with Harris
Comcast Spotlight, the advertising and sales division of Comcast, said today that it has renewed its licensing agreement with Harris Corp. for the latter’s advertising software products.
Comcast Spotlight will use Harris’ Novar traffic and billing software products in more than 50 percent of its footprint across five U.S. regions: the Southern Division (including Atlanta, Nashville, Jacksonville, Sarasota, Chattanooga and West Palm Beach); Western Division (including Denver, Albuquerque and Salt Lake City); Eastern Division (including Pittsburgh); Midwest Division (including Detroit, Chicago, Indianapolis and St. Paul); and the North-Central Division (including Boston).
“We chose Novar because it is very capable of supporting and managing our high-volume cable ad sales operation, which includes multichannel, multi-system and multi-zone spot buys,” said Steve Feingold, SVP of strategic planning for Comcast Spotlight. “By streamlining and automating many aspects of the cable ad sales process, Novar enables our account executives to be more productive, accurate and efficient, while also providing better, faster customer service.”
With the agreement, Comcast Spotlight also expanded the range of scalable, open database Novar software products it uses to include sales, scheduling, traffic and spot buy analysis through to billing.
Examples include Harris’ Gatekeeper transaction management suite with modules for electronic invoicing, local contract import and post-buy analysis, and Remote Office suite for remote sales and accounting management.
Comcast Spotlight is also using the Gatekeeper eBusiness Order Exchange software for electronic revision of invoicing and sales transactions, which Harris co-developed with Comcast Spotlight last year.
