Verizon has expanded its FiOS TV service to three New York villages, and the telco has won a video franchise in Walpole, Mass.
In New York, Verizon is now taking orders for its video service in parts of Roslyn Harbor on Long Island, as well as in Wappingers Falls in Dutchess County. Within the Town of Newburgh in Orange County, the service was also expanded to include the village of Plattekill and portions of the Village of Wallkill.
The company already offers FiOS TV to nearly 200 New York communities through 108 cable franchises that have been approved across the state.
And a newly approved agreement in Walpole, Mass., will allow Verizon to offer its FiOS TV service to approximately 6,000 additional Massachusetts households. The vote makes 69 the total number of Massachusetts communities where Verizon's FiOS TV is, or will soon be, available.
Verizon currently offers FiOS TV in 67 Massachusetts communities, as well as in other locations in New York, New Jersey, California, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas and Virginia.
