Harris Corp. will show an array of its workflow and revenue-enhancement products at next week’s The Cable Show in New Orleans, including a new version of its Novar traffic and billing system.

To increase workflow and operational efficiency, Harris is introducing Novar.12, the latest version of its Novar advanced traffic and billing system for multichannel media ad sales. Novar 5.12 offers Novar Gatekeeper Business Order Exchange (Gatekeeper eBox) to support electronic exchange of order information with third-party proposal systems.

Harris will also exhibit Desktopbox, a technology that provides content distributors with an end-to-end product for delivering specific Web pages in parallel to the broadcast of live or pre-recorded shows.  These Web pages give viewers a two-screen experience in which the content and data displayed on their PCs is relevant and in sync with the TV program they’re watching.

Desktopbox also enables advertising and promotional opportunities that benefit both media companies and advertisers, such as allowing viewers to order a tool on the Web site while they watch it being used on a home improvement show.  Media companies can also track the effectiveness of Web site advertising.

At the Harris booth, show attendees can also see the capabilities of Harris Digital Signage products, which help cable operators to establish out-of-home networks that repurpose content and offer opportunities to insert ad content. Harris Digital Signage offerings support creative and production activities, ad scheduling and placement, traffic and billing, sophisticated report generation, and the distribution and presentation of high-definition (HD) graphics and live video at venues.
