The NCTA and its European counterpart, Cable Europe, have agreed to several measures aimed at strengthening ties among cable interests in the two markets.

NCTA is helping to get key U.S. executives to participate in Cable Europe’s Cable Congress show. Among them will be Greg Ricca, president and CEO, Discovery Networks International; Sam Howe, EVP and Chief Marketing Officer, Time Warner Cable; and Jon K. Vonk, VP Video Marketing, Comcast Corporate Offices.

NCTA members attending Cable Congress 08 will receive a 20 percent discount. In exchange, the NCTA will offer official Cable Congress delegations wishing to attend The Cable Show a preferential rate of $250 (instead of $950).

Cable Europe and NCTA will also collaborate in developing future programmes (or, as we say here in the States, “programs”) for their respective conferences.

Cable Congress 08 will be held in Madrid April 23 – 25, 2008. The Cable Show ’08 will be held May 18 – 20, 2008 in New Orleans.
