Viaccess, a France Telecom subsidiary, is preparing to buy IPTV middleware specialist Orca Interactive for an estimated $21.4 million. Viaccess specializes in conditional access and DRM products, used largely by IPTV providers.

* Gemstar IPG on the Wii in Japan

Nintendo has signed a multi-year agreement to use the G-Guide interactive program guide (IPG) from Gemstar-TV Guide on its Wii game console. The agreement is restricted to the Japanese market.
