"We were one of the first Internet service providers to offer a free security suite to our customers," said Tammy Heitkamp, a marketing director at Cox Communications Arizona. "And now we're partnering with McAfee, the industry leader in online security, to offer what amounts to an arsenal of tools to help keep families and home computers safe, protected and virus-free."
The Cox Security Suite, powered by McAfee, includes anti-virus, anti-spyware, personal firewall protection, customer identity theft protection and parental control features to filter offensive content, pictures and Web sites.
The service is provided at no additional cost to Cox’s high-speed data customers in its Arizona system.
In April 2003, Cox forged a software deal with McAfee for anti-virus and anti-spam protection for its subscribers (story here).
