Reuters reported yesterday that AT&T is still in discussions with DirecTV and EchoStar regarding reseller agreements of video services in the former BellSouth footprint.

A spokesman for DirecTV said that his company is still talking to AT&T about an ongoing relationship, since AT&T’s current contract with Dish Networks expires in the fall. The spokesman said it was too early to comment on any specifics of the proposed partnership.

In the former BellSouth territories, DirecTV’s marketing agreement was with BellSouth before AT&T acquired it. The agreement in BellSouth’s former territory ends in April.

In December, DirecTV issued an e-mail statement, which stated that AT&T’s decision would have a minimal impact on its ability to compete effectively.
